Just when I thought I had heard every objection in the book. I had a prospect turn me down today. Why? "Because this ain't nothing new. You can buy this stuff anywhere. Why would I want to sell something you can get anywhere?"
My friend - that's exactly the point! It's a tough economy right now. People are not spending like they used to. So who has a better chance at picking up a customer?
Two products - one I have never used, am not sure I really need it and haven't budgeted for it in my finances. It looks great, seems like it might be useful, but hey -I've lived without it this long so why should I commit to spending $40 a month on something I'm not even sure I need?
My products - are you currently paying for cell phone service? Great! Would you consider renewing your next contract (no matter what provider you use) with me? After all, you're already paying this bill. The only difference is instead of helping Alltel, Verizon, AT&T, Nextel, or Sprint make more money, you're helping me make a living.
Do you have satellite TV service? Great! Would you consider renewing your DishTV service through me? Are you considering changing from cable to Dish? Great! Would you mind getting it from me? After all, I'm not asking you to purchase anything new. Just use what you're already using and purchase it from me.
Do you shop online? Great! Would you consider signing up for our rewards mall? It's free to join, contains most of the online merchants you already use, and you get a rebate every time you shop - and I make a commission. It's not going to cost you anymore than you are going to spend anyway - in fact you get that rebate. The only difference is that instead of making money for the merchant only, you are helping me make a living too.
Do you book travel online? Great! Would you use my Travelocity site? It's Travelocity so you know it's good. And I get a commission from any travel you book. You were going to pay for it anyway and you won't pay any more than you were going to. The only difference is you'll be helping me out.
So tell me - who has a better shot at making the sale? Of course you can buy my products anywhere. You probably already do. That's the beauty of it!
